"The Directorate Determination of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) of 26 March took us by surprise. At the worst time for the country since the second post-war period, we can consider it a provision at least questionable ".
This is the comment by the President of the Customs Commission of Assologistica, Stefano Morelli, to the Agency's decision not to grant any authorization - regarding decisions issued through the Customs Decisions System, AEO authorizations and the status of authorized exporter, as well as the extension authorizations the terms of re-export of goods bound to ATA Carnets - until the end of the Covid-19 emergency (as can be seen from the text of the Determination that we report below).
“In the context of digital technology where almost all non-production activities can be carried out remotely, the content of the determination is at least out of time; the new provisions will not allow the national production fabric to resort to fundamental tools in order to continue being active, competitive on international markets and consequently prepare in advance as soon as the emergency ends. Without forgetting that in this way ADM is failing in its mission, enshrined in art. 2 of the Statute of the same, which states: The Agency promotes the economic growth of Italy, facilitating the movement of goods in international trade "
, says Morelli again.
