'Total' support from London to Brighton

Total stepped in to support this year's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, which left London this morning (Sunday 1st November). Appreciating that older cars – the youngest on the Run is 110 years old – are not built to quite the same fine tolerances as modern cars, Total as Official Lubricants Partner was on hand to provide oil and any practical assistance to participants. Mechanics from leading restorers Classic Motor Cars were supporting Total's oil stations at the Run’s halfway Harrods Stop at Crawley and Madeira Drive in Brighton. Marc Smith, General Manager Lubricants of Total UK, said:
"Total’s rich history dates back to the 1920’s and since then our engineers have been catering to the needs and specifications of generations of engines, right up to our multiple F1 world championship wins in collaboration with Williams, Renault and Red Bull. "
It was amazing to see such a moving display of cars that are over 100 years old. The oil stop at Crawley was constantly busy with participants asking for oil top ups, some of which were carried out by themselves or by our mechanics.
Smith added: "Total’s range of mineral lubricants, fluids and greases perform particularly well in classic and veteran cars. This is part of our long-term commitment to keep these historic cars younger for longer."
This was the first of a series of initiatives from Total to support veteran and classic motoring in the UK, which will see advice, special services and lubricants offered to events, clubs and owners.
