Martek Lifecare, the UK based medical equipment supplier, has released the revolutionary new industry leading Defibtech Lifeline VIEW automated external defibrillator (AED). Ideal for the transportation sector – aviation, rail and road – due to the unique in-built video screen offering clear, concise visual
instructions on how to use the unit.
There are over 100,000 deaths due to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in the UK alone each year. Even scarier is that without defibrillation to the heart within the first few minutes, the chances of survival are reduced dramatically and without treatment 90-95% of victims of SCA will die.
The Lifeline VIEW is the first AED to offer step by step visual feedback for performing CPR, rescue breathing and external defibrillation whilst also providing clear video instructions for checking and changing the pads, battery pack and data card. Along with voice commands the VIEW takes the rescuer through each step of the rescue via a full colour video screen, which includes guidance on the CPR aspect of the rescue, with a metronome for the rescuer to deliver the CPR in time with.
This makes the Lifeline VIEW easy for anyone, from first responders to untrained bystanders, to respond confidently and appropriately during an emergency. It is the most advanced of all the non-professional selection of the Lifeline range of defibrillators. The integrated colour video screen compliments the audio instructions with full visual instructions to guide the user through the whole life saving procedure, giving the user addition re-assurance of what needs to be done.
A number of transportation companies have chosen the Lifeline VIEW including Easyjet and Etihad airlines with the former selecting the Defibtech Lifeline VIEW defibrillator in all their aircraft and offices.
"A number of transportation companies are realising the benefits of having an automated external defibrillator on site and the Lifeline VIEW is ideal for those environments where audio instructions alone are not enough such as airports, trains and warehouses,” commented Steve Coulson, Director at Martek Lifecare.
